This made me smile because I have several areas covered in beautiful thyme. It is a lovely ground cover with its tiny little leaves covering like a mat. 🙂
I always have time for thyme! And the post seemed so thyme-ly. Thanks for re-reading–someone else said this is the third time I’ve posted this–that might be one thyme too many!
We plan on it… In a few years, we want to pave our driveway and walkway to the front and back of the house. We want to do it ourselves, leaving plenty of space for thyme in between the cracks. This is what we plan on doing : http://refreshingthehome.com/walkway-made-from-a-picture-frame
Thanks, Clare–it’s fun to watch it spread every year. It just goes where it wants (and skips places I’d like it to go, of course). But it looks great everywhere!
I have had a little difficulty with mine during the past couple of years, mainly due to our wet summers I think. I will have to improve the drainage by adding more grit I think.
The grid is made up of square pavers, forming a patio. I planted tiny little clumps of the thyme where I could squeeze them in, about 4 years ago, and it has filled in like crazy!

I do love it, too–we have spots where it’s “escaping” into the lawn areas and I love that, too.
Ha, ha! Maybe it’s thyme to stop.
Oh, I think I’ll keep it up, for the thyme being . . . . 😉
A lovely post, which we will always have thyme for 😀🌸
We need to make thyme for pretty things, right?! 😉
I told you thyme and thyme again, how I love thyme…your photos are so wonderful, I can smell the thyme. Xo Johanna
It smells great! And there are spots where it’s migrated into the lawn so, every time we mow, we get the full effect!
Gorgeous! Thyme is money…you could dry it and sell it on Etsy!
Oh, you entrepreneur, you! I’m just trying to get my act together to list some handwoven stuff on Etsy–so much to do . . .
🙂
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!
Thanks! It is pretty, and it gets more so every year as it spreads.
Thyme to get into the kitchen and make a thyme-sensitive dinner with such a bountiful “crop”. 😉
Do you know, we’ve never used it for cooking?! I’m not sure why, since we use our basil and mint, etc. But our lawn smells like a good meal!
I loved this when you first posted it. Thanks for giving it the thyme of day again (sorry 😦 )

What a thyme-ly post!
Yes, indeed–no thyme like the present!
How pretty is that! I’ve never seen thyme like this! Kerry, these pictures made my morning a happy one:)
Hugs
The thyme goes everywhere here–it must like the climate. It has encroached on the lawn and just pops up in odd spots.
How lovely!
Thanks, Deb–it smells great, too!
What a great thyme reading this post! I bet all that thyme smells heavenly.
It does smell wonderful. When we mow the grass we get a big hit of the fragrance, since it has spread into the lawn. Nice!
It is just as enjoyable the third thyme round Kerry! 🙂
Has it really been three thymes? I thought it was only two. That might be one thyme too many . . . 😦
My mistake – I counted years – my thymes table not so good! 😀
Oh this post made me giggle… But mostly it made me sigh with happy thoughts of old english gardens. It is just beautiful Kerry. 🙂
Your climate and ours must be quite similar–you could do this at your house!

I love this post just as much as I love thyme!

Delightful!
Thanks, Alys–it makes me happy!
I like it too! What an interesting grid pattern.

So much thyme. Wonderful. .)
Thank you! Yes, so much thyme yet never enough thyme . . . 😉
