Do you remember Gigi?
A blog friend asked me about her recently.
She is doing great–she is almost 3 years old and weighs somewhat too much. She loves her food!
She has calmed down, as cats do when they leave kittenhood behind.
And, thank goodness, she isn’t as interested in the weaving looms as she once was.
Unless I am sitting at one, trying to thread heddles.
Every weaver needs a helper . . .
(No, her eyes aren’t blue. That’s the combination of fluorescent lighting and an iPhone camera.)
So cute! How time flies. Love that picture of the paw. Good help is hard to find!
She does this every time I dress that particular loom. That little paw comes sneaking down . . . She’s a twit!
What a handsome lady she has grown into!
She is, indeed. Rather full-figured but, hey, who am I to judge??
She’s really pretty.
She is and she’s mostly a Good Girl, too (that’s where Gigi came from–me telling her to be a GG instead of a BG)!
Oh, she is adorable! And so helpful! Our Allie likes to help me spin, especially when it comes time to ply!
It’s so interesting how some cats are fascinated with thread/yarn and others are “meh”!
Great photo of Gigi with the loom. I think this could be a contest winner for the right contest or photo cover shot for a weaver’s magazine…
Well, Gigi definitely thinks she ranks as cover girl material! She appreciates that you agree!
Beautiful cat! Love the picture of the kitty paw poking through.
I know–that paw . . . I see that regularly when I dress this particular loom and it always makes me smile.
I remember having a toddler who tried similar tricks with my loom.
Oh, that’s more complicated. You can’t simply put the toddler out and shut the door!
Wow is she really 3 already ?? where did that time go ?? beautiful girl xx
I know–I was surprised when I looked, to realize she was that old already!
How cute is that photo!! And Gigi is not so bad either 🙂 I have to tell you though that in his older years Orlando has taken to lying beside me specifically to hook my yarn while I’m crocheting…… Returning to the simple joys of his youth?
And who can deny Orlando his fun, at his advanced age?? One of my older cats, who has kidney disease, has shown a lot of playfulness lately–more than I’ve ever seen from him, since we didn’t have him as a kitten. It makes me *SO* happy that he is having fun! He can knock my bobbins on the floor and play with my thread to his heart’s delight!
That’s what I think too! Doesn’t it just make your heart sing ❤
What a cute little helper!
She is! And she’s not tooooo naughty anymore, not like when she was a kitten!
The photo of Gigi at the loom made me laugh out loud! Such a curious and social and helpful being…
I have the so-called “multiple cats” and they have distinct personalities and ways they would like to “help.” They are all such fun!
What a charming ‘helper’. She must be forgiven every transgression.
Absolutely. And she knows it. And takes advantage of it!
Simply charming kitty and charming comments!
Don’t I have the best commenters?! Of course, the kitty is pretty inspirational!
She has grown into a beautiful cat! I loved the picture of her “helping.”
She’s a Good Girl (get it? Gigi = GG). She ‘s just an attention seeker, and who could deny her?
😂😍
A pretty kitty and a very cool cat. I’m sure, if cats had opposable thumbs, they would love to weave, knit and crochet – anything involving thread or yarn in fact 🙂
Can you imagine the mess?! If cats had opposable thumbs they’d rule the world and we’d be serfs . . .
What a sweetie! My current cats are not very interested in the loom, thank goodness! Our earlier cats used to sit ON the woven part! This especially happened when I was weaving a rya rug. It was a gorgeous thing and cost a mint since I used wool, but what was I thinking? It sat in front of the fireplace and they all sat on it. Cat hair in a rya rug? Even dragging it in the snow didn’t really clean it. And then the fleas arrived… It was a doomed project.
You know, a lot of what I weave is determined by the fact that I know the cats would ruin it! They can’t really ruin dishtowels so I make a lot of those. It’s also the reason i make quilts and then put them behind closed doors of an armoire. I guess I like the cats better than the stuff.
Our pets bring so much enjoyment into our lives. I guess I am lucky I have both a dog and a cat to help me out.
Yes, because they help in such different ways! Cats are more hands on but dogs are so encouraging!
Oh what a sweetheart she is! Wonderful photographs! I have a soppy smile on my face now. Hope we see more of Gigi soon! 🙂
Oh, if I give Gigi more space I’d need to give all the others equal time . . . and we’d never get around to other topics! She’ll make a cameo appearance occasionally, as do the others. . . .
She’s adorable. What a cutie!
She’s a good girl–just wants to be part of whatever is going on!
Thank you for stopping by. That is cat is so cute and adorable. Very well written!!!. Nice photography.

She is such a sweet cat and I love the helpful paw too!
When I was still at home with my parents, we had a cat who couldn’t resist helping Mum with her knitting. We never saw her do it, and she must have been very quick but Mum would find her yarn had been chewed apart and all she had was a soggy and ragged end. The ball of wool had disappeared.
I’m forever finding balls and cones of yarn strewn around. I try to keep it put away, since I don’t really want to have the cats’ innards tied up in knots, but they find it anyway!
Cats can be so entertaining. Your cutie reminds me of Figaro in Disney’s “Pinocchio.” Everything is something to play with.
That pretty much describes Gigi, too!
I was just about to comment about those eyes 🙂
That’s one cute little helper!
Aren’t the blue eyes lovely? In fact, her eyes are a sort of bland color but she’s not bland at all!
She’s a very beautiful little helper 🙂
She is and she really isn’t destructive at all–just shows up for attention!
Made me smile, your helper!
She makes me smile, too, which is lucky . . . otherwise, she’d be pushing her luck!
She’s adorable! A-dorable! I’m so glad you shared.
She’s a good girl and, even though she seems to want to grab the threads, she never actually messes with it.
She’s such a beauty!
She’s a pretty girl and, generally, a good girl, with a high need for attention!
How gorgeous – wonderful photos!
She knows how to pose!
